WAIMEA, Kauai — A movie entitled "There is a Way," featuring teenagers from across the Garden Island, will debut at an upcoming town hall meeting sponsored by the county's Anti-Drug office and the Hawai'i Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking.

The town hall meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Waimea Theatre.

Free hotdogs, popcorn and soda will be given to the first 100 participants.

The focus of the meeting will be on raising awareness about recent research that points to the detrimental effects of underage drinking.

Presentations will be made by Acting Capt. Mark Scribner and Sgt. Kenneth Carvalho of the Kaua'i Police Department, and Kekai Seabury with Mothers against Drunk Driving, Kaua'i Division.

Exhibits will be set up by various alcohol and drug prevention agencies and handouts also will be available at the event.

Town hall meetings are being held across the country to alert and empower communities and to support the goals outlined in the Surgeon General's Call to Action to Prevent and Reduce Underage Drinking.
