OPERAtunities �Na �Uhane� will be presented by the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus at the Paliku Theater at the Windward Community College Campus in Kaneohe tonight and tomorrow.
The one-act, five-scene, orchestrated opera composed by Herb Mahelona, Jr. and conducted by Aaron Mahi is based on a collection of Hawaiian stories and wascommissioned in 1998.
All roles are sung and acted by youth participant members. Performances are the culmination of a three-week summer intensive youth opera training program for students grades 4 through 12.
