Primo Brewing offers limited-edition statehood ale
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaiçis statehood, Primo Brewing & Malting Co. said it will produce a limited-edition ale.
Primo said the ale will be available only in draft form at select bars and restaurants on Oçahu and Maui for a limited time starting this month.
Primo wants to do something special to commemorate Hawaiçis rich history and Primo Statehood Ale is just the right fit, said Kyle Wortham, director of marketing at Primo Brewing.
The ale is an addition to the draft and bottled lager version of Primo beer, which owner Pabst Brewing Co. revived in 2007, or about a decade after the previous owner stopped brewing the beer.
Founded in 1898, Primo was once Hawaiçis most popular beer, especially among the Islands' working-class community.
The ale version will be brewed by Hawaii Nui Brewing in Hilo.
The limited edition ale will be available as several Oçahu bars and restaurants, including Lulus Waikiki, Don Hos Island Grill, JJ Dolans and Oceans 808.
On Maui, the draft ale will be sold at Lulus at Kihei and Lahaina and the Hard Rock Cafe.
