Firefighters resume operations against brushfire in Waiawa

Honolulu firefighters have returned to a brushfire in Waiawa that burned about 250 acres yesterday.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said the fire poses no danger to property.
“It wasn’t contained last night ... it was smoldering and sort of idle,” Seelig said. “We’ve resumed operations now that we can safely work all day.”
Seelig said the fire department would be calling in water drops and dispersing ground crews to contain and finally extinguish the fire.
