Afternoon Arrival at Hickam Air Force Base. Gov. Linda Lingle, Lt. Gov. James Aiona and Adm. Timothy Keating of the U.S. Pacific Command are expected to be on hand.

3:30 p.m. Visit to Kapi'olani Park to view a shower tree (on the small triangle bordered by Kalakaua Avenue and Poni Mo'i Road) that then-Crown Prince Akihito planted in 1960. This will be the royal couple's only official public appearance. The public is advised to arrive at least one hour early. A secure perimeter will be enforced.

TOMORROW

Morning Wreath-laying ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. A brief ceremony will be held at the Dedicatory Stone at the base of Honolulu Memorial. The cemetery will be closed to the public, including gravesite visitors, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Afternoon Official state luncheon with Lingle at Washington Place.

6 p.m. 50th-anniversary dinner of the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. More than 100 present and former scholarship recipients are expected to be on hand to celebrate the golden anniversary of the scholarship foundation, established to promote understanding between the United States and Japan.

Morning Arrival at Kona International Airport. Big Island Mayor Billy Kenoi is scheduled to greet the couple.

Afternoon Reception with the ambassador of Japan and consul general of Japan at Parker Ranch.
