U.S. men end World League volleyball pool play with victory

The United States men's volleyball team defeated the Netherlands, 25-19, 25-18, 26-24, in their final FIVB World League pool play match tonight at Wichita, Kan.
Team USA, which clinched a spot in the finals yesterday with a victory over the Netherlands, ended pool play 9-3. The Netherlands was 4-8.
The United States will travel to Serbia tomorrow for the final round, which begins on Tuesday.
The United States' Scott Touzinsky led all scorers with 18 points.
Honolulu's Clay Stanley, who led the United States with 18 points yesterday, played in the first set and registered no points, as both teams used several players. Former University of Hawai‘i standout Alfredo Reft was the libero for all three sets, leading the team with five digs.
Other teams in the finals are host Serbia, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Russia.
