Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal defeated Matt Olson and Punahou alum Kevin Wong, 21-17, 23-21, today in men's final of beach volleyball's Manhattan Beach (Calif.) Open.

Wong and Olson had to win twice earlier today to reach the final. The fifth seeds defeated seventh-seeded Matt Fuerbringer and Casey Jennings 14-21, 21-17, 15-13 to reach the semifinals, then beat second-seeded Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers 21-19, 21-23, 15-10 (1:25).
Dalhausser and Rogers are the reigning Olympic gold medalists.

Third-seeded Gibb and Rosenthal defeated top-seeded John Hyden and Punahou alum Sean Scott 13-21, 21-17, 15-12 and eighth-seeded Brad Keenan/Nick Lucena 16-21, 21-14, 15-13, in the semifinals.
The winners split $24,000 while the runners-up split $18,000.
