Track: Britain picks doping-tainted Chambers for worlds

LONDON — Formerly banned sprinter Dwain Chambers has been picked for Britain’s track team at the world championships in Berlin next month.
Chambers, who tested positive for the steroid THG in 2003 and served a two-year suspension, joins automatic pick Simeon Williamson and Tyrone Edgar in the 100 meters, and will race alongside Marlon Devonish and Toby Sandeman in the 200 at worlds, which run from Aug. 15-23.
His inclusion in the 100 Tuesday was expected, even though he failed to earn a guaranteed spot in the British trials in Birmingham earlier this month.
Chambers is banned from more than 50 events organized by the Euromeetings consortium and the British Olympic Association won’t let him run at the Olympics.
