NFL: Manning satisfied with answers on coaching staff

MICHAEL MAROT

INDIANAPOLIS — Peyton Manning is satisfied with what he's hearing from the Colts about the roles of retired assistants Tom Moore and Howard Mudd.

Ten days after complaining about the uncertainty of Indianapolis' coaching staff, Manning said on Friday that he has a better understanding of the situation and will move on.

Though Manning still doesn't have all the answers, he realizes team president Bill Polian and coach Jim Caldwell don't either.

The three-time league MVP and one-time Super Bowl winner met with Polian and Caldwell between media appearances. Apparently, that was enough to prompt Manning to say he has a better grasp of what's going on.

Manning spoke as the Colts opened their first day of a mandatory minicamp that runs this weekend.
