After helping lift Roosevelt to the top, junior pitcher Lianna Bajarin was named O'ahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division Player of the Year after a recent vote of league softball coaches.
Bajarin, a right-hander, pitched a no-hitter in a victory over Castle on the final day of the season, helping clinch at least a tie for the East title. She then pitched a complete game and beat the Knights immediately afterward to help the Rough Riders finish the regular season at 11-1 and earn the crown outright.
Bajarin also pitched two-hitters against Kaimuki and Moanalua.
Roosevelt placed four others on the East all-star first team: shortstop Charisse Tanabe, designated player Kamalei Pitoy and outfielders Cierra Kapea and Kathleen Nakata.
Castle was next with four first-team selections: first baseman Leisha Li'ili'i, second baseman Kaitlyn Wills, third baseman Maycee Moe and utility player Chandelle Dacosin.
Kailua was represented by three players: outfielder Tiffany Pereza, catcher Johnna-Lynn Pedro and pitcher Jaelleen Johnson.
Moanalua outfielder Hoku Dela Cruz rounds out the first team.
Roosevelt's Clay Okamura was named Coach of the Year.
