NFL: Ex-Panther LB Jamison faces traffic, gun charges
Associated Press
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Brandon Jamison has been arrested in South Carolina on traffic and weapons charges.
The State reported Monday that Jamison was arrested early Sunday in downtown Columbia and charged with reckless driving and illegal possession of a gun. Lt. Jay Evans said both charges are misdemeanors.
Police said the 27-year-old Hopkins man was arrested after he made a skidding, sliding turn at an estimated 70 mph shortly before 4 a.m.
Evans said Jamison gave permission to have his car searched and officers found a .40 Ruger handgun with 10 bullets.
Jamison played in three games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2006, and in 19 for the Panthers in 2006 and '07. He has seven career tackles.
It was unclear Monday if he had an attorney.
