Kalafi Moala In Search of the Friendly Islands by Kalafi Moala will be released at a reception and book signing from 3 to 5 p.m. on June 28 at the Na Mea Hawaii/Native Books on Ward.
Moala's new book examines issues including domestic violence, the culture of domination and hierarchy, traditional and modern leadership, riots, economic development, globalization and spirituality.

This is a significant book at this point in time for Tonga, says Ana Currie, executive director of Pasifika Foundation Hawaii, publisher of the book. Its wealth of stories and insights, its brutal honesty and hopeful vision, is an important addition to the collective wisdom of Pasifika and Tonga.

Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii is located at the Ward Warehouse, 1050 Ala Moana Blvd. For more information, call 596-8885.
