A 24-year-old man was arrested on five counts of sexual assault in the third degree against three women, ages 89 and 92.
The alleged sex assaults occurred between May and June. The man, who was not identified, is still being held in police cellblock.
The assaults occurred at the Kahala Nui skilled nursing center in the Waialae area. The center has since fired the man, who was a nursing assistant.
"Kahala Nui values its residents and has a zero tolerance policy for any type of abuse," said Pat Duarte, Kahala Nui chief executive officer. "Through an internal investigation, it was discovered that the individual in question had inappropriately touched three residents in our skilled nursing center."
Sex assault in the third degree includes fondling, or touching. The center reported the incident to the state Department of Health and the Honolulu Police Department, Duarte said.
