'STORIES OF ALOHA'
WRITER'S COLUMNS COMPILED FOR BOOK
Well-known Honolulu writer Jocelyn Fujii has collected her popular columns from Spirit of Aloha magazine, defunct since Aloha Airlines shut down in 2008, in "Stories of Aloha."
The book will be released by Hula Moon Press in October, but can be preordered at a discount through July, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting displaced Aloha Airlines employees.
Fujii's columns, updated as necessary for the book, go back as far as 1985, covering small Island businesses (especially mom-and-pop grocery and specialty stores), outstanding cultural practitioners and artisans and local neighborhoods and rural places.
Fujii is the author of more than a dozen books, including "Under the Hula Moon," about home design and decor in Hawai'i, and "Tori Richard: The First Fifty Years," about the popular clothing design company.
To order, visit http://www.hulamoonpress.com. The retail price is $19.95.
