CLEVELAND — In an attempt to shore up their defensive line, the Cleveland Browns have signed a player familiar to new coach Eric Mangini.
Defensive lineman C.J. Mosley signed with the Browns on Friday. He spent the past three seasons with the New York Jets, where he played for Mangini, formerly the head coach, along with several of Mangini's assistants who are also now with the Browns.
Mosley entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2005 after playing in his home state at the University of Missouri. Mosley was traded to the Jets during training camp in 2006 and played 35 games over the past three seasons for New York, making three starts and recording five sacks.
Mosley had 17 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and two passes broken up last season.
