Ostrowski interim head of the Oceanic Institute
Anthony Ostrowski has been named interim president of Oceanic Institute, an affiliate of Hawai'i Pacific University, said Chatt G. Wright, chairman of the board of trustees of the institute.
Ostrowski was previously the institute's vice president and director of the U.S. Marine Shrimp Farming Program, one of OI's largest research programs.
Ostrowski will replace Bruce Anderson, who has been named as the director of Health and Science Programs at Hawai'i Pacific University. Anderson has been president of Oceanic Institute since August 2004. Ostrowski will serve as interim president until a permanent successor is named by a search committee formed by OI's Board of Trustees, Wright said in a news release.
"Dr. Ostrowski brings to the position more than 22 years of aquaculture research and administrative experience at OI, and is exceptionally suited to lead the Institute in the interim," Wright said.
Ostrowski received both his master and doctorate degrees in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University.
