FIXING THE BREAK
Waianae Coast urged to conserve water as repairs on main go on
Advertiser Staff
Waianae Coast residents are being asked to conserve water for a second day as Board of Water Supply crews work to repair a broken main.
Work is expected to continue through today.
The 24-inch main, near Honokai Hale, is used to fill Leeward coast reservoirs.
The board is urging all residents from Honokai Hale to Makaha to use water sparingly and for priority needs only. This means cooking, drinking and personal hygiene.
Residents should not water their yards, do laundry or wash cars.
The right, town-bound lane of Farrington Highway near Honokai Hale was opened to rush-hour traffic this morning.
Crews worked through the night to repair the main.
