NFL: Titans pick up return specialist to replace Carr
Associated Press
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans have signed a multiyear contract with Carolina wide receiver and return specialist Mark Jones.
The Titans picked up the free agent Wednesday after losing cornerback Chris Carr, who signed with Baltimore.
The Titans were the first in the league with average yards per kickoff return and Jones averaged 24 yards last year, the best by a Panthers returner since 2001.
Jones, a five-year NFL veteran, had the NFC's third best punt return average and the league's seventh best with 11.4-yards in 2008.
The team did not disclose the details of the agreement.
