Rainbow Wahine complete softball sweep of Boise State

Advertiser Staff

Stephanie Ricketts followed up her no-hitter with a two-hitter yesterday and Hawai'i pounded 15 hits to rout Boise State, 9-1, in the first game of a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium today.

Hawai'i won the second game, 8-3., to sweep the three-game series.

Hawai'i improved to 29-22 and 15-6 in the WAC. Boise State is 21-28 and 4-16.

The first game ended in the bottom of the fifth because of the league's 8-run differential rule.

Ricketts, who no-hit the Bulldogs in an 8-0 win last night, struck out two and walked one today. The only run she gave up was unearned.

UH's Kanani Pu'u-Warren went 3 for 3, scored three runs and drove in a run. Tanisha Milca was 2 for 3, including two RBIs. Clare Warwick hit a solo homer in the third and Audrey Andrade hit a bases-empty shot in the fifth.

In the second game, Courtney Baughman threw a complete game, allowing three runs and seven hits, while striking out two and walking two.

The Rainbow Wahine went out to an 8-0 lead after three innings. Milca led the 10-hit attack, going 3 for 4.

Pu'u-Warren hit a two-run homer in the second inning that gave UH a 2-0 lead. Stacey Yamada had a two-run double in a sixth-run third inning.
