MLB: Diamondbacks' Gordon injured in play at plate
Associated Press
MILWAUKEE — Arizona reliever Tom Gordon injured his left leg while making a tag at home plate and left Sunday's game against Milwaukee.
The 41-year-old Gordon threw a pitch over the head of Mike Cameron and the Brewers' Rickie Weeks took off from third base. Gordon covered the plate, caught catcher Miguel Montero's throw and tagged out Weeks.
Weeks slid into Gordon and appeared to roll the pitcher's left ankle.
Gordon clutched immediately for his left leg, stayed down for several minutes and needed help getting off the field. He was not putting weight on his left leg.
Gordon is in his first year with the Diamondbacks. He is 0-1 in three appearances after coming off the disabled list last week.
