Punahou earns top seed for state water polo championships
Defending state champion Punahou received the top seed for this week's Local Motion/Hawai'i High School Athletic Association Girls Water Polo State Championships.
Punahou is seeded first, followed by Roosevelt, Lahainaluna and Hilo. All four seeds receive first-round byes.
First-round play begins on Wednesday at the Veterans' Memorial Aquatic Center at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park. Punahou will face the winner of the Kalani-Leilehua match. Roosevelt meets the winner of Kamehameha-Hawai'i-Mililani, Lahainaluna faces the winner of Kamehameha-Kapolei and Hilo draws the Kahuku-Kamehameha-Maui winner.
The championship game is Saturday at 3 p.m.
