Central Pacific Bank's adorably loyal Shetland sheepdog — you've seen the commercials — is retiring after seven years of service to the bank. Alex the Loyalty Officer, who served as the bank's symbol of "fiercely loyal banking," will now devote his time to working in the community as he trains for dog therapy certification.

In honor of Alex's new endeavor as a therapy dog, Central Pacific Bank donated 2,800 Alex plush dolls to Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children's rehabilitation department, where they will be used in pediatric speech, audiology and physical therapy treatments.
