LIHUE — An information session on Kauai County's draft Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan and a public hearing on the plan are scheduled May 12 at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.

The information session will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Background on how the plan was developed along with a broad overview of the draft will be covered, followed by a question-and-answer period.

Immediately afterward, a public hearing will be held. Anyone who would like to testify during this period is encouraged to do so.

The deadline to submit comments is June 9.

The draft plan is available on the county website, www.kauai.gov. Hard copies of the plan are available at all public libraries on Kauai and the Solid Waste office located in the Moikeha Building at the Lihue Civic Center.
