Kilohana United Methodist Church in Niu Valley will celebrate its 50th anniversary Sunday with festivities and the opening of a time capsule.
The free event kicks off at 11:15 a.m. and is open to the public. About 300 people are expected to attend.
Kilohana was organized in 1959 and construction on the church started a year later.
Rev. Alan Mark, pastor at the church, said the anniversary event will be a time to talk about "our past, present and future."
Kilohana is located at 5829 Mahimahi St. For more information on the event, call the church at 373-3373.
