Martin Scorsese will tell Frank Sinatra's life story on film. The Academy Award-winning director of "The Departed" will direct "Sinatra," the first feature film about Ol' Blue Eyes' life, the studios involved said yesterday.
The film will be "an unconventional biopic," said Mandalay Pictures president Cathy Shulman, who is co-producing the film for Universal Pictures.
No casting decisions have been made and no production date has been set, she said, adding: "It's everyone's hope that this will be a movie that comes to the screen shortly."
ANGRY PAGEANT EXEC QUITS OVER PREJEAN
Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler resigned as co-executive director of the Miss California USA pageant yesterday after the parent organization's honcho, Donald Trump, allowed controversial Miss California Carrie Prejean to keep her crown.
At a news conference Monday, Moakler had angrily accused Prejean of violating her pageant contract by speaking on behalf of organizations opposed to gay marriage and by failing to disclose she had posed nearly nude for photos before entering the state pageant, which leads to the Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions.
Moakler, the 1995 Miss USA and now an actress and model, posed nude for Playboy magazine but not until several years after she was Miss USA. The December 2001 Playmate of the Month said in her Playboy bio that her turnoffs include "people who lie, cheat and are dishonest."
'AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL' OUSTS JUDGE
Paulina Porizkova got a pink slip from "America's Next Top Model," where she has been on the judging panel since last year.
That's what the model-actress said Tuesday night on CBS' "The Late Late Show," dropping this bombshell to host Craig Ferguson: "Do you know why I'm in Los Angeles, besides seeing you? ... Because I'm looking for a job. Because I was fired by 'America's Next Top Model' on my birthday."
Porizkova, who turned 44 on April 9, said the firing came by phone.
Last night's 12th-season finale of the CW network's popular model-scouting series marked her final appearance. The show's other judges are fashion insiders J. Alexander, Nigel Barker and the show's creator and host, Tyra Banks.

The two entertainers, who each scored No. 1 hit songs and videos this year, lead BET Awards nominees with five each.
Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Keri Hilson got four nominations each. Other multiple nominees include Jennifer Hudson, Jazmine Sullivan, Kanye West, Keyshia Cole and Jamie Foxx, who will host the awards show June 28 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
