Panel discussion May 23 on Internet video journalism
The Hawaii Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is holding a panel and workshop on the topic of Web video May 23 at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa.
Panelists from local print and broadcast media will cover the rise of online video journalism and its impact on the kinds of subjects covered, depth of coverage and methods of developing news stories.
The panel is free and open to the public and does not require registration. It begins at 8:30 a.m. at Crawford Hall.
A related hands-on workshop will cover basic video shooting and editing for the Web. Registration is limited. Preference is given to journalists and journalism students and costs $5 for SPJ members and $10 for others. Lunch is included. Open seats will be made available to the public. Deadline to sign up for the workshop is May 20.
