LEXINGTON, Ky. — Former Scott County high school basketball star Jonathan "Bud" Mackey is in trouble again.

Mackey was arrested Thursday morning after Lexington police say they found a gun tucked inside a couch Mackey was sitting on.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the 19-year-old Mackey was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and receiving stolen property.

Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of shots fired. Officer B.K. Hill says Mackey was on the couch when police arrived and the gun was discovered after Mackey appeared to reach for it.

Mackey was being held on $12,500 bond with a "holder" from Scott County of $10,000 also listed.

Mackey, a former Indiana University recruit, pleaded guilty last year to first-degree drug possession after police found cocaine in his shoe.
