CLIFTON, N.J. — Lorena Ochoa is going to have to stage one of the biggest comebacks of her career to win a fourth straight Sybase Classic.

Helen Alfredsson jump-started a career-best, 10-under 62 by holing out for eagle from 68 yards on her second hole, and took a two-stroke lead over Brittany Lincicome after the opening round yesterday.

Ochoa, who has won this event at two different courses, was nine shots behind Alfredsson. Besides the eagle, the Swede had nine birdies and a bogey at Upper Montclair Country Club.

Honolulu's Michelle Wie, a Punahou alum and Stanford sophomore, made seven birdies but that was offset by five bogeys in a 2-under 70. She was tied with Karrie Webb, Natalie Gulbis and Paula Creamer.

FUJIKAWA TRAILS IN TEXAS

Paul Goydos made eight birdies en route to a 7-under 63 yesterday at La Cantera Golf Club for a share of the first-round lead with Justin Leonard in the Texas Open at San Antonio.

Goydos has two PGA victories, the last coming at the 2007 Sony Open in Hawai'i.

Jeff Maggert, Marc Leishman and Ted Purdy opened with 64s. Veteran pro Dean Wilson, a Castle High alum, shot 3-under 67, while Hawai'i teenager Tadd Fujikawa, a Moanalua High senior, shot 2-over 72.
