Woman hit by car Tuesday dies of injuries

A 79-year-old woman who was struck by a car as she crossed South King Street in M��ili�ili Tuesday morning has died of her injuries, police said.

The woman�s identity was not released yesterday.
Police said the woman was crossing the intersection of South King and Coolidge streets with several friends when she was hit by a Ford Taurus driven by a 64-year-old woman. The older woman was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident, police said.
The woman was taken to The Queen�s Medical Center in critical condition, but she died at 2:38 p.m. that day, police said.
The case initially was classified as a negligent injury, but was reclassified yesterday as a negligent homicide case.
This is the 46th traffic fatality on O�ahu this year compared with 41 at the same time last year.
