Unusually large waves are pounding eastern shores
Some of Hawai'i's east-facing shores are experiencing large and rough surf.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu says a high-surf advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today.
Surf along east-facing shores of O'ahu, Kaua'i, Moloka'i, Maui and the Big Island will be about 8 feet to 12 feet.
A high-surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory areas and produce rip currents and localized beach erosion.
