Shane Victorino just played in his second consecutive World Series, won a Gold Glove Award for the second year in a row and got married last weekend on Maui.
Life is good for the Flyin’ Hawaiian.

The Philadelphia Phillies center fielder has established himself as one of baseball’s best all-around players and one of the best to ever come out of Hawai‘i.
Others from Hawai‘i he’s been mentioned with are Mike Lum, Sid Fernandez, Lenny Sakata and Benny Agbayani.
“It’ definitely an interesting company to be a part of,” said Victorino during an interview from the Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki todayi. “I never thought I’d be in that company to be known as one of the best players to come out of Hawai‘i in baseball.”
Victorino, a St. Anthony High alum from Maui, married Melissa Smith last Saturday. The ceremony was held at St. Anthony High School Church.
“Everything went smoothly. It was definitely a wonderful day,” Victorino said.
Victorino, 30, and his wife have a daughter, Kali‘a. Victorino also has a stepson, Keenan.
Victorino will go back to Maui to host the second annual Shane Victorino Celebrity Golf Classic at Makena Beach & Golf Resort on Saturday.
Last year, the tournament raised $100,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter.
This year’s primary beneficiary is the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation with a goal of raising $120,000.
This past season, Victorino won the Lou Gehrig Award, which was created by the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and honors each year a player who best exemplify Gehrig’s character and integrity both on and off the field.
Earlier this year, Victorino also donated $10,000 to the HHSAA’s Save Our Sports Drive, which is raising money for financially strapped local public high school athletic programs.
