State Securities Commissioner Tung Chan has been named the chair of the North American Securities Administrators Association’s Investor Education Section.

Chan will help advance investor education programs for the organization, which consists of state securities regulators as well as those from Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Mexico.
In 2009 the association’s securities regulators reached more than 250,000 people through investor education programs. The group is the oldest international organization devoted to securities regulation and investor protection.
