State gets $1.24M in federal funding to promote 'green' jobs

The state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations said it has been awarded $1.24 million in federal funds to be used in developing an information bank to facilitate job training, job search and placement in �green jobs.�

The competitive grant authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act also can be used to identify such jobs, the skills needed and wages paid.
