State football: Iolani stops Aiea in semifinal, 21-7

Ammon Baldomero ran for 139 yards and one touchdown to lead No. 7 ‘Iolani to a 21-7 victory over ‘Aiea tonight in the First Hawaiian Bank/Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Division II semifinal game.
A crowd of about 2,000 at Radford’s John Velasco saw the Raiders (11-2) play their first game since Nov. 7. The ‘Nä Ali‘i (9-4) saw their season come to and end.
‘Iolani, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion, will try for its third consectuive State division II title next week against Kaua‘i.
‘Iolani scored first midway through the first quarter after junior Cody Petro-Sakuma recovered an ‘Aiea fumble at the Nä Ali‘i 44-yard line.
Baldomero capped a drive with 2-yard run for a 7-0 lead.
‘Iolani’s other scores came on a Jarrett Arakawa 24-yard touchdown pass to Josiah Sukumaran in the second quarter, breaking a 7-all tie. ‘Iolani clinched it with a score with 39 seconds left.
‘Aiea’s score came on Otto-Titan Salausa’s 4-yard run in the first period that tied it at 7.
