Even with a new combined O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Conference all-star team including Eastern and Western Division teams, Kailua swept top honors and had the biggest presence after a vote of league coaches.
Sherie Recca, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, was named Player of the Year and was joined by two other senior Surfriders on the first team, 5-10 middle hitter Dancel Williams and 5-7 setter Nycole Masaki.
Kailua's Mani Yamaguchi-Taufa'asau was named Coach of the Year for the second straight year after the Surfriders repeated as East champion with an 11-1 record.
Others named to the all-star first team are Castle 5-5 senior outside hitter Tiara Kalopodes-Fa'agata, Kaimukí 5-11 senior middle/outside Violeti Mikaele, Kapolei 5-10 sophomore middle/outside Rachelle Suava'a, Kaiser 6-2 freshman outside/middle Nikki Taylor and Waialua 5-foot senior libero Leia Lendio.
Masaki was a first-team East pick and Lendio a first- team West pick in 2008.
