CFB: Stoops intends to stay at Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he fully intends to be at Oklahoma “hopefully for a good while” amid rumors that he could be a candidate for the Notre Dame job.
Speaking to reporters Monday, Stoops said: “I’m going to be at Oklahoma next year, so I can’t be at two places at once.”
Notre Dame fired coach Charlie Weis on Monday. Stoops is coming off the worst regular season in his 11 years with the Sooners, losing five games for the first time. He has led Oklahoma to seven BCS games and one national championship.
He is under contract with the Sooners through 2015.
