Advertiser Staff

A man suspected of swinging a baseball bat at two others last week has been charged by police for crimes including first-degree burglary and assault, police said.

Lewis Sao, of 1556 Linapuni St., was arrested on suspicion of burglary in the first degree, two counts of assault in the second degree, robbery in the second degree, terroristic threatening in the second degree, two counts of promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, contempt of court and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, police said.

The incident occurred at 10:22 p.m. Tuesday when Sao, 30, entered the apartment of three men and a woman in Kalihi.

Sao allegedly struck two men on their heads with a baseball bat and threatened to kill the third man. Police alleged that Sao took a backpack and fled the apartment.

Police on Saturday arrested Sao at his home, where they allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana and a clear glass pipe used to smoke ice, police said.
