Weather service warns of dangerous Hawaii brushfire conditions
Advertiser Staff
A red-flag warning remains in effect for leeward areas of the state today, the National Weather Service says.
The warning will remain in effect until 5 this afternoon.
A red-flag warning warning means gusty winds and low humidity are creating the potential for rapid start and spread of brushfires.
Residents in leeward areas should be especially vigilant and immediately call authorities in the event of a brushfire, or if they see suspicious behavior related to the starting of brushfires.
