A man who appeared to be in his 30s was in critical condition after being pulled from the ocean waters about 2:15 p.m. along the shoreline between Sandy Beach and Makapuu Point.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said a witness reported seeing the man fall from the rocks into the water at Alan Davis Beach. Four males heard bystanders calling for help and jumped in the ocean, Cheplic said.
The males, in their late teens to 20s, brought the man to shore and city lifeguards gave the man first aid until city paramedics arrived, Cheplic said.
