Chaminade University, EA SPORTS Maui Invitational, and the Boys & Girls Club of Hawai'i will offer free Hoops Clinics and Adidas basketballs for kids age 7-17.

The Hoops Clinic events also will support the Hawai'i Foodbank and participants are asked to bring two canned goods.

Additionally, the clinics will be supported by the Hawai'i Medical Service Association. The Chaminade University men's basketball program, including head coach Matt Mahar, will work with kids on skills, drills, dribbling, passing and shooting on the basketball court. All participants will receive an Adidas basketball and the opportunity to win tickets to the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational on Maui, Nov. 23 to 25, at the Lahaina Civic Center.

CERTIFICATION CLINICS FOR RUGBY COACHES, REFEREES

Hawaii Youth Rugby, the governing body for youth and high school rugby in Hawai'i, will host a USA Rugby Coaching and Referee Certification Clinics in conjunction with the Fiji Day festivities taking place in Waikiki Oct. 8 to 10.

The courses will be held Thursday at Paki Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and next Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a Rookie Rugby demonstration and informational session for parents, supporters and educators during the Fiji Day rugby games Oct. 10 at Kapi'olani Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
