DAVIE, Fla. � Running back Kory Sheets has been signed by the Miami Dolphins off the San Francisco 49ers� practice squad.

Sheets took the roster spot of running back Patrick Cobbs, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a left knee injury.
Sheets joined the 49ers this year as an undrafted free agent and scored three touchdowns during the exhibition season. He�s the second-leading rusher in Purdue history.
