DAVIE, Fla. — Running back Kory Sheets has been signed by the Miami Dolphins off the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad.

Sheets took the roster spot of running back Patrick Cobbs, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a left knee injury.
Sheets joined the 49ers this year as an undrafted free agent and scored three touchdowns during the exhibition season. He’s the second-leading rusher in Purdue history.
