Shoreline and ocean search continues for missing Big Island woman

Hawaii County fire rescue crews are conducting a shoreline and ocean search in the Keahole Point area for a woman reported missing yesterday.

Hawaii County police have identified the woman as 41-year-old Tomoko Ioh.
Police say she left her home about 10:30 yesterday morning. Her vehicle was found about 6 p.m. near the ocean thermal energy conversion plant at Keahole Point.
Crews searched the area until about 9 p.m. and were to resume operations at first light today.
Ioh is described as 5 feet 1 and about 110 pounds. Police say she has a medical condition that may require medication.
Police ask that anyone with information on Ioh's whereabouts call the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
