CINCINNATI — Defensive end Antwan Odom will miss the rest of the season because of a torn Achilles’ tendon, costing the Cincinnati Bengals their top pass rusher.
Odom had surgery on his right leg Monday and was placed on injured reserve. The Bengals didn’t immediately fill his roster spot.
Odom is tied for the league lead with eight sacks and has been the Bengals’ most dominant defensive player. He got hurt during the first quarter of a 28-17 loss to Houston on Sunday that dropped Cincinnati to 4-2. Defensive lineman Domata Peko also missed most of the game with a knee injury.
The defensive line was depleted by injuries against the Texans. Frostee Rucker was inactive because of a sprained ankle, and Tank Johnson played with an injured foot.
