LOS ANGELES — First lady Michelle Obama is going to be serving up answers on "The Jay Leno Show."

NBC said yesterday that the first lady is set to respond to 10 "rapid-fire questions" in a comedy bit with Leno. She'll participate via satellite from Washington.

Leno's Q&A routine with celebrities and newsmakers has featured Justin Timberlake, Sen. John McCain and LeBron James, among others.

The first lady is to appear Friday on the show. Colin Firth is the scheduled guest.

BEYONCE POSTPONES MALAYSIA CONCERT

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — R&B star Beyonce Knowles has postponed a planned concert in Malaysia, the event's organizer said yesterday, following accusations by Islamic conservatives that the show would be immoral.

Knowles, known for her provocative clothes and choreography, had been scheduled to perform at a Kuala Lumpur stadium Oct. 25. The show "has been postponed to a future date to be announced shortly," Malaysian entertainment company Marctensia said in a statement.

A Marctensia representative declined to say whether the decision was prompted by criticism from the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, the country's largest opposition group, which has called for the show to be scrapped because it would promote "Western sexy performances."

WEST GETS RID OF INNER DEMON IN NEW FILM

NEW YORK — Is Kanye West getting rid of some of his demons? That seems to be the message of his latest project — an 11-minute short film directed by Spike Jonze.

The beleaguered rapper debuted the clip on his Web site yesterday but later took it down. In it, West is shown acting drunk and obnoxious, and at the end of it, he stabs himself with a sword and pulls what appears to be a little demon out of his stomach. He then gives the demon a sword, and it stabs itself.

A rep for Jonze says the video was made within the past year. West's publicist did not respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

'GOOD HAIR' HAS A GOOD DAY IN COURT

LOS ANGELES — A federal judge has refused to halt the release of the Chris Rock film "Good Hair."

Rock and the film's producers were sued in Los Angeles by documentary filmmaker Regina Kimbell, who claimed the comedian stole several ideas for his film from her work.

Kimbell produced the documentary "My Nappy Roots" earlier this decade and says she screened her film for Rock in 2007. U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer watched both films and says she didn't see substantial similarities.

Kimbell had been seeking an order blocking the film's release. "Good Hair" has been in limited release and will open nationwide Oct. 23. Kimbell and her attorney say they will continue to pursue the case to a trial.
