Task force on reducing greenhouse gas emissions to meet
The Hawaiçi Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Task Force will hold workshops on Oçahu, Kauaçi, the Big Island and Maui to review plans for reducing greenhouse gases
The task force was developed by statute and is considering the likely effects of existing laws in addition to projects in the Hawaiçi Clean Energy Initiative. State law calls for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels or below in the next 11 years.
The first of the workshops is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Lihuçe Civic Center on Kauaçi.
On Nov. 4, there will be a 5 p.m. meeting in the Pilina Building at Maui Community College.
The workshops will resume on Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Office of Aging Conference Room in Hilo. The next day the workshops will move to Kona at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation at the Department of Liquor Control hearing room.
On Oçahu there will be a 6 p.m. workshop scheduled for Nov. 24 at the Kawananakoa Middle School cafeteria.
