Animation supervisor on Disney's 'Bolt' talks at KCC tomorrow

Renato dos Anjos, animation supervisor for Disney Animation Studio will give a talk on “The Making of Bolt” 7-9 p.m. tomorrow in OHIA Room 118, Kapiolani Community College.
As the story goes, Bolt, a modern-day action animal hero, was raised on the set of a hit television show, and believes he has amazing powers. Do Anjos artist will share the process of creating Bolt from early concept design to the final superhero look. A question-and-answer period follow.
Dos Anjos is responsible for working with animators to bring a director’s vision to the screen. His film credits include “Surf’s Up” and “Open Season” for Sony Pictures Animation, and “The Polar Express,” “The Haunted Mansion” and the Oscar-winning Best Animated Short Film, “The ChubbChubbs!” for Sony Pictures Imageworks.
For his work on “The Polar Express,” dos Anjos received a nomination for the 2004 VES Award in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Animated Character in an Animated Motion Picture for the character of Steamer, and for his work on BOLT, he received a nomination for the 2009 VES Awards in the same category for the character of Bolt.
His talk is free and open to the public.
