Prank gets out of hand for Browns

After a spirited practice, the Cleveland Browns were still in a playful mood so they decided to pull a prank on one of their rookies.
Coye Francies didn't care for the joke.
The first-year cornerback, incensed over being soaked with water by some of his teammates, threw a bucket of ice and at least one errant punch during a skirmish in the Browns' locker room yesterday at Berea, Ohio.
As the Browns returned from practice, a dripping-wet Francies stormed into the locker room lugging a Gatorade bucket full of ice. Before he could be stopped, Francies tossed the ice on cornerback Brandon McDonald, hitting him with cubes that covered the floor.
At that point, it was not clear if Francies was playing along and messing with McDonald.
Then, his mood, and the vibe in the room, turned more serious.
Francies flung some more ice in the direction of safety Mike Adams before heading toward safety Abram Elam's corner cubicle. With the bucket on the floor, Francies then swung his arms at Elam, who deflected the blows. Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers then stepped in and grabbed Francies by the back of the shirt and escorted him out a side door as other players came to help.
"Calm down, man," Rogers told Francies as he pushed him outside.
"Welcome to the Browns locker room!" wide receiver Braylon Edwards hollered.
The incident happened while the locker room was open to reporters. The Browns (0-2) play at Baltimore tomorrow.
Francies returned a few minutes later and went straight to his stall at the back of the locker room. He still seemed irritated as he sat there.
At the other end, McDonald cleaned up the mess in front of his stall.
"It was just guys having fun," McDonald said. "I was the first one he saw. He got a little aggressive, it's no big deal."
After dressing, Francies had cooled down enough to smile.
"It's all just fun and games," he said. "We were just playing around."
Also, Browns running back Jamal Lewis is still nursing a hamstring injury, and will likely miss tomorrow's game.
PATRIOTS
MOSS, WELKER LISTED AS QUESTIONABLE
Randy Moss and Wes Welker have formed a potent 1-2 punch for New England the past two seasons. But injuries to both could leave the Pats punchless tomorrow against the Atlanta Falcons.
Welker and Moss were listed as questionable after they missed practice yesterday.
Welker had limited participation in Thursday's practice and was present for the start of practice yesterday for stretching and kickoff return drills. He didn't take part in team drills. Welker missed last Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets with a right knee injury and is expected to be a game-time decision.
Welker had 12 catches for 93 yards in the season-opening win over the Buffalo Bills.
Moss also was present for the start of practice yesterday, but didn't participate in team drills due to a back injury. He was added to the injury report yesterday.
CHARGERS
TOMLINSON RULED OUT AGAINST MIAMI
LaDainian Tomlinson has been ruled out of San Diego's home game against the Miami Dolphins tomorrow, the second straight game the running back will miss due to a sprained right ankle.
Tomlinson was hurt in a season-opening win at Oakland and missed last Sunday's home-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
"I don't have a comment about it. It is what it is," said Tomlinson, who added that he feels it's getting better.
After going eight regular seasons without missing a game due to injury, Tomlinson will have missed three of the Chargers' last four games.
Darren Sproles will start again in L.T.'s place.

Eagles: Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb could have a sideline view for Michael Vick's debut. McNabb is doubtful to play tomorrow when Philadelphia hosts Kansas City because of a broken rib. Kevin Kolb will make his second straight start if McNabb can't go. No matter who's under center, Vick will play his first regular-season game in 33 months.
• Philadelphia cornerback Sheldon Brown was fined $10,000 by the league for wearing a Halloween mask during pregame introductions last Sunday. Brown ran onto the field wearing a mask similar to what the character Jason wore in the "Friday the 13th" movies.
Giants: Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck is questionable for New Yorks' game this weekend against Tampa Bay. Tuck hurt his left shoulder last Sunday against the Cowboys when tripped by Flozell Adams. He has not practiced all week and coach Tom Coughlin said yesterday he was 50-50 for the game in Tampa, Fla.
Saints: New Orleans running back Mike Bell will miss tomorrow's game against Buffalo with a sprained MCL in his right knee. Bell was the Saints' most productive runner through the first two games, rushing for 229 yards and a touchdown.
Vikings: Minnesota rookie receiver Percy Harvin missed his second straight practice because of an illness yesterday. He is listed as questionable for the game against San Francisco tomorrow.
