Rocket-propelled grenade was practice round: police
Police on Sunday recovered what appeared to be a rocket-propelled grenade practice round from an area near a bus stop at the intersection of La'aloa Street and Farrington Highway.
"One of the regulars out there who picks up empty soda cans almost every day found the thing and picked it up," said police Maj. Michael Moses. "He carried it down to where a special-duty officer was working, and our Specialized Services Division was called out and determined it was an inert dummy round, a practice round."
Moses said police have no idea how the device got there.
The Specialized Services Division bomb disposal experts took the device with them, Moses said.
