Contractors donate $25,000 to support science fair

A group of contractors involved in the city's planned rail project have donated $25,000 to the Hawaii Academy of Science to support the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair.
The contractors, who call themselves Honolulu Rail for Growth, are led by Sumitomo Corp. of America. Other members of the group are Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc., KinkiSharyo International LLC, Thales Transport & Security, Inc. and Wasa Electrical Service. Each contractor contributed $5,000, according to a news release from the group.
The science fair will take place April 6 and 7 at the Hawaii Convention Center.
