Rail contractors donate $25,000 to science fair
A group of contractors involved in the city's planned rail transit project have donated $25,000 to the Hawaii Academy of Science to support the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair.
The contractors, who call themselves Honolulu Rail for Growth, are led by Sumitomo Corp. of America. Other members of the group are Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc., KinkiSharyo International LLC, Thales Transport & Security Inc. and Wasa Electrical Service. Each contractor contributed $5,000, according to a news release from the group.
The science fair will be April 6 and 7 at the Hawai'i Convention Center.
